Completed 1/48 Tamiya P-51D 4th F.G. CAF
This is the C.O.’s aircraft fron the Chinese A.F.’s 4th F.G. It is finished in Krylon Matte Aluminum and Mike Grant Decals

I’m not sure what’s up next. LOL
Partial Annular Solar Eclipse
I set up my my wide field scope with very low magnification and a solar filter on the end.
Just held my phone up to the eyepiece to get this.

Completed 1/48 Promodeller P-40E 75 Squadron RAAF
Actually I started it many moons ago. It’s not bad. The windscreen doesn’t fit worth beans and I lost the gunsight somewhere. That’s ok though because it was just a blob of plastic. I’ll attach one at a later date. Maybe…
Completed F4U-4 of VF-11
This is the Hasegawa 1/48 kit with aftermarket decals. I had a lot of problems with the final gloss coat that required me to carefully strip it off. In the end it didn’t turn out too bad though. If i was to do it again I would not use Future as a gloss coat. It just ended up way to thick and puddled a bit which required stripping it off with alcohol. Not fun.

Time Flies
Wow! WestFest was three weeks ago already! My excuse is I started a new full time job two weeks ago so my free time is gone.
WestFest was a great time with a lot of great people and a whole lot of nice models on display. Check out the gallery here.
Amusingly I did not finish any of the kits I was building specifically for the contest. Two of them were so close to being finished that I took them with me in case I had a few minutes to finish them up but that never happened.
I didn’t really get to look at many of the models but I did get to spend time with friends and even met some new ones.
I really enjoy shows and contests. There is always so much to look at and so many people to chat with.
